Education Reform? Nah. Get Ready For An Education Revolution!

A lot of people ask me how I can write a book on American education while living in Argentina.  Well, you see, all kinds of things are possible with the internet. ;-)   I mean, I got an agent and a publisher entirely through email–not even a phone call was required.  These are exciting times.

Not only that, but Buenos Aires is a mecca for creative thinkers from around the world.  People are coming here because the most creative people they know are telling them how inspiring it is.

So I was not surprised to learn that Kareem Mayan, co-founder of Education Revolution, was in town.  We’re meeting tomorrow for coffee to talk about the great big ol’ world and the education revolution that is changing everything.

His site has one of the greatest manifestos I have ever read.  Take a look at it here and see for yourself.  You’ll be pumping your fists, I swear.   ;-)

Oh, and make sure you scroll down on that EduRev page as there is a MUST-SEE YouTube video featuring an amazing multi-lingual kid.  Talk about experiential language learning!  How did he learn?  By talking to people from around the world, of course.  And that’s something Kareem is looking at very closely.  For more, read his blog (and check out the loooooong list of places he visited in 2007!) here.

So…just a typical Saturday afternoon in BA talking about education with passionate, creative people who are on the frontlines of the revolution…..

Did I mention that Buenos Aires ROCKS?
